Google Latitude lets you stay in touch with your friends and family by making it easy to share where you are and see each other on a map. Check in at places to share them with friends.

With Latitude, you can:
* See your friends on a map – find out who’s nearby and meet up.
* Share your location continuously with whomever you choose – help friends and family stay in touch with you, even when you can’t take out your phone.
* Control your privacy – share only city-level location, hide your location, or turn off background updating at any time.

Latitude lets you share your location in the background, even when the app is closed or your device screen is locked. Background updating requires an iPhone 3GS or iPhone 4 with iOS 4 or above.

You can also enjoy Latitude from your computer at google.com/latitude to see where your friends are or turn on optional apps such as Google Location History for a personal history dashboard.

It is very good when it works, which it often does, but:1-there is no way to refresh it and it often remains stagnate for long periods. An update button would be great.2-when in direction mode, there is no way to return to friends listing except by turning off and restarting the

Latitude is great, and a lot of the complaints are artifacts of how background updating works. All-in-all, it is very accurate and out-of-the-way. Great for knowing when your friends are around, and vein multi platform means everyone can get on it. Useful for seeing when friends

Had my phone stolen and recovered it through using Latitude. I recommend it!

Love how it shows the % of time spent in different places & the graphs on the main website. Be careful who you really want seeing your every move!

Gary Edwards, your device must be a Chinese knockoff because mine works thousands of miles away, I know this because I just traveled across the US.works GREAT!

GL only displays the location within a 2 mile radius. For better results ask your friends to send their location and navigate to the location using your phones GPS. Do not rely on Latitude to locate family in an emergency.
